I finally have my OB orientation today. And this is the stupid thing about military health care. Let me say it is enough to drive you to drink. I am preggo with #4. I have been through the infertility clinic and they saw a heart beat on the 6 wk u/s. The infertilty resident I saw said to go over to Balboa Navy Hosptial and set up my first OB appt. So, I show up and they tell me I need to go to the 2 hour "OB Orientation" meeting before I can see an OB. Ummmm HELLO? This is not my 1st child...this is my 4th! child. So I am 8 weeks and have to go and listen to a nurse inform us all about how bad smoking is for the baby, not to drink alcohol, etc. Only then will I get to make an actual appt. with an OB. I jut may be out of my first trimester by the time that rolls around - they are so over booked at Balboa. I had thought my OB orientation was yesterday, so I called to reschedule as Hubby couldn't get off work in time to watch the kids. Another vent - the latest OB orientation the schedule is 2pm in the afternoon - how lame is that! The rest are in the mornings. You would think at least one would be in the evenings. Anyway, I digress. Forgive my hormonal rantings. So I called the OB clinic yesterday to reschedule and I am told that my appt. is TODAY, not yesterday. Hubby gets home and says - yes he can get home in time to watch the kiddies.
