Baby girl is moving around much more now. I am actually getting movement far above my belly button which seems odd. She must have shifted because up until today most of the movement was below my belly button. We are still on the eternal search for a name. There is a name I really like, Hubby is even taking to it. The problem is that there is someone out there in cyberspace who recently named their baby this particular name. Now, to me, I have never gotten the whole, "waaa she used my name" bit women can slip into. I really don't get it. In the whole world - chances are there are going to be lost of kids with your child's first name. Why women get so katty about it totally puzzles me. I am afraid if I use this name folks will get all weird on me. Honestly, I really love the name - that I had never heard until this child was born and named. Off to contemplate it some more. It isn't like I don't have time. Still over 3 months. 15 weeks to be exact. Although - time is flying.

Funny thing happened last night though. I will remind you I am 6 feet tall and started this pregnancy with a little extra "cushion" so to speak. When I stand up, it is obvious I am pregnant. However (since most of my height is in my trunk), when I am sitting it can be hard to tell. After our Sunday night Bible study at church I went to sign up Essie and Jack for Awana's. At the Awana table there was a single chair - so pregnant ole me pulled it up and sat down to fill out the medical releases, etc. Well Maraguerite comes over to me and is talking with me and another woman and say, "that chair looks comfy - I am just about ready to take it out from under you"...(of course she is kidding with me - she is a gem). I tease back and say, "oh you wouldn't do that to a pregnant woman would you???". She is shocked to say the least. She is like - now way?!!! Yup - 6 months. She looks me up and down and says wow - I had no idea. I had to giggle because this woman was 5'2" if she was an inch. Very tiny lady. I am sure by the time she was 6 months with her child she was out to here! We all had a good chuckle as she kept asking other church memebers who came to sign up their kids..."did you know she was pregnant???".

Oh and the back pain has started! It feels like I got kicked by a donkey in my lower right back. It is especially bad if I have laid down or sat for a while. And I am only 25 weeks. How am I going to make it through the next 3+ months. Hoping maybe I over did it somehow and it will ebb soon. I actually had my cane out today. I feel like such a glamorous lady - let me tell you. 6 months pregnant, graying hair, and now a cane. I was so hoping my herniated disk wouldn't start giving me trouble until much later. After all - I wasn't having any pain from it when I got preggo. Oh well. Life goes on. If it doesn't get any better soon - I am going to go to my PCM and see if I can't get referred out to a physical therapist or something.

And on the appt. front. The Fetal Assesment Center finally called to schedule my appt for my 28 wk u/s. It is October 4th at 3pm. My next OB appt. is Oct. 2nd. I can't believe I will be 28 weeks at my next appt!!!! My goodness but time is flying! Still no call from the dietician or nurse educator about my gestational diabetes. Hmmmm.
