So I had the big u/s on last Thursday. What a let down. They couldn't see much. The heart looked good from what the Perinatologist could see. The spine looked good from what she could see. She didn't get to look at the face, or measure the legs that were all scrunched up. So I go back on August 21st for another big u/s. The doctor was quick to remind me that "just because she didn't see any soft markers for Downs doesn't mean the baby doesn't have Downs". No Duh! She was really pushing for the amnio right away. No way am I risking my sweet baby just to find out if it does or does not have a genetic problem. I will stay the course and have my amnio at 34 weeks. We are going to keep and love this baby regardless.
